The three tiers of pre-order gift

Retailers generally offer one of three levels: a folded poster only, a poster plus one exclusive photocard, or a poster plus a card plus a small extra such as a bookmark, sticker sheet or lyric card. The card is what people care about, because it exists only in that store's run and cannot be bought separately later.

Why store-exclusive cards hold value

Print runs for a store-exclusive card are limited to that store's pre-order volume, which is a fraction of the total release. On the resale market these cards typically trade at 15,000 to 60,000 KRW depending on the group and the member, against a poster gift that is worth almost nothing. That gap is the whole reason people compare stores.

The cost of splitting an order

Ordering one album at each of four stores means four separate deliveries into a Korean warehouse across two to three weeks, four sets of domestic shipping unless each hits a free threshold, and a longer wait before your consolidated box can go out. Splitting is worth it for two or three genuinely different card designs, rarely for five.

Reading the benefit announcement

Gifts are announced on the product page when pre-orders open, usually with an image and a note about whether the item is random or fixed and whether stock is limited to first-come orders. Limited-stock gifts run out before the pre-order window closes, so the announcement date matters more than the deadline date.
