Korean Free Domestic Shipping Thresholds and How to Hit Them
· ppasong
Nearly every Korean store has a free shipping minimum. Structuring orders around it saves real money.
Typical threshold levels
Most Korean stores set free shipping between 30,000 and 50,000 KRW, with beauty retailers often at the lower end and fashion malls at the higher end. Below the threshold, domestic delivery runs 2,500-3,500 KRW, which is small individually but adds up across six stores.
Why it matters more than it looks
A ten-store order that misses every threshold adds roughly 30,000 KRW, about $22, before anything leaves Korea. Consolidating your buying into fewer stores and pushing each cart over the line usually costs less than the shipping you avoid, especially if you were going to buy those items anyway.
Conditional and excluded items
Free shipping frequently excludes oversized items, refrigerated goods and certain categories, which the store states next to the threshold. Sellers on open marketplaces set their own thresholds independently of the platform, so a single order across three sellers is three separate shipping calculations.
Island and remote surcharges
Korean stores add surcharges for delivery to islands and remote areas. A forwarding warehouse in a major metropolitan area avoids these entirely, which is one small advantage of using an established address over an ad hoc one.

Frequently asked
Yes, provided it is a standard mainland address. The store treats it as any other domestic delivery.
Only if the filler is something you want. Buying 12,000 KRW of unwanted product to save 3,000 KRW of shipping is not a saving.
Only within their own store. Three sellers on one platform means three shipping charges.
