Korean Live Commerce: How Live Shopping Deals Work

· ppasong

Live-streamed shopping is a major Korean sales channel with time-limited pricing. Here is how to use it.

How the pricing works

A live broadcast typically bundles a base discount with a broadcast-only coupon and sometimes a free gift, producing 20-50% off the standing price. The price reverts when the stream ends. Some platforms keep a short grace window after the broadcast, but most do not.

Where the broadcasts happen

Major Korean portals, open marketplaces and department store apps all run live commerce, with schedules published in advance. Beauty and fashion dominate the calendar, with food and home goods close behind. Schedules are posted a day or two ahead, which is enough lead time to plan.

The problem for overseas buyers

Broadcast coupons are usually issued to a logged-in Korean account and applied at a checkout that requires domestic payment. There is no way to capture a live price from outside Korea without a Korean account placing the order in real time during the stream.

Making it work

If you want a live commerce price, you need to identify the broadcast in advance and have someone ready to buy during the window. Send the schedule and the product to your agent ahead of time rather than after the stream, because after is too late by definition.

Send us the link. We'll buy it and ship it.

No Korean card, no phone verification, no Korean address. Pay once in USD.

Frequently asked

Broadcast quantities are limited and sellouts during the stream are common. There is rarely a second chance at the same price.
